The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation staff enjoyed their annual pre-Christmas visit from Alice Park (1999) and her son Lyon, Jany Brown (1992) and her son Graham and Lesley Wainwright (1994), her husband Trey and their kids Ali and Couper!
Coca-Cola Scholars in Minneapolis got together with kids from the Boys & Girls Club at a Minnesota Timberwolves game a few weeks ago! Alumni in attendance included Will Schulz (1994), Jackie Hess (2008), Kim Gohman (1993), Mike Reiners (1994), Gavin Ovsak (2011) and Austin Sandmeyer (2013).
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation also enjoyed a December visit from Neda Norouzi (2011), Kaley Parchinski (2013) and Tina Ho (2012) , Coke Scholars at Georgia Tech.
Coke Scholars in OH, IN and KY got together in Cincinnati, OH to volunteer with Marge Schott-Unneweher Boys and Girls Club of Covington. Those who attended included Patrick Daly (2001), John Lowrey (2010), Lauron Fischer (2007), Anna Delamerced (2012), Katie Wesler (2010) and a friend of Lauron’s.
Coke Scholars in San Francisco attended the 2013 Tech Awards Annual Gala on November 14, 2013 among an audience of 1,500. Presented by Applied Materials, The Tech Awards is a signature program of The Tech Museum of Innovation in association with the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Santa Clara University. The event celebrates 10 international laureates and our global humanitarian, Dean Kamen. Among those in attendance were Jason Pate (2005), Alice Fang (2011), Jessica Qu (2006) and Ashley Chang (2006).
Jake Bernstein (2012) met up with Chris Gray (2010) while in Jake was in Philadelphia for fencing. They met at the Coke Scholars Alumni Summit in Atlanta in October and have stayed in contact since.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation staff enjoyed a nice visit with Nick Picon and Frederick Grimm (both 2010 Scholars at GA Tech) at Coke Headquarters recently. Nick is their Student Body President and just became a Marshall Scholar, and Frederick is President of their Student Ambassadors program and just came back from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Antarctica!
CCSF hit the road last September, visiting Coke Scholars in Boston, New Haven, Princeton, Philadelphia, and Chicago, connecting with over 225 Scholars!
Gabriel Nagel (2023) was selected as the Chairperson of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s National Environmental Youth Advisory Council, making him the youngest Chairperson of an official U.S. federal advisory council.
