Scholars in Minneapolis got together for a holiday party (see picture above) hosted by Will Schultz (1994) and his wife Sarah and their kids. Mike Reiners (1994) and his wife and kids, Kim Gohman (1993), Emily Jordan (2009) and her husband, and Jackie Gamboni (2008) attended and enjoyed great food and fellowship and Mike even played some tunes on the piano.
Rocio Ortega (2012, right) wrote us about how she spoke on a panel with fellow Scholar Nadya Okamoto (2016, left). “When you find out your fellow panelist at the World Bank Youth Summit is also a Coca-Cola Scholar. Nadya Okamoto is 2016 and I’m 2012. Turns out, she also started a Girl Up Club in high school! Love you Nadya!”
Jonathan Quarles (2000) met up with Mayor Michael Tubbs (2008) while both were at the City Labs Summit in Detroit, a gathering of global Mayors, city innovators, and urban leaders.
Ben Fisher (2004) gave Joelle Murchison (1991) and her colleague a tour of Nike Headquarters while she was in Oregon on business. The two had met at the 2018 Coca-Cola Scholars Leadership Summit and connected a week later.
Atlanta alums Elizabeth Howell (1996), Jany Brown (1992), Torarie Durden (1994), Alice Park (1999), Lesley Wainwright (1994), and their families came to visit Coca-Cola Headquarters.
Los Angeles alumni Ari Krasner (2014), Jonathan Baio (2009), LaToya Franklyn (2003), Johanna Sanchez (1999) and their friends and family enjoyed an afternoon of ice skating at the Coca-Cola Holiday Ice at L.A. Live on Sunday, December 16, as guests of The Coca-Cola Company.
CCSF hit the road last September, visiting Coke Scholars in Boston, New Haven, Princeton, Philadelphia, and Chicago, connecting with over 225 Scholars!
Gabriel Nagel (2023) was selected as the Chairperson of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s National Environmental Youth Advisory Council, making him the youngest Chairperson of an official U.S. federal advisory council.
